The Munchkin Star Fountain is recommended for ages 12 months and up. Jordan got this pink fountain for Christmas when she was almost 11 months old.
I am very disappointed with this product. This star shaped fountain never worked! I read reviews after I bought it saying it only worked for a short time, but we didn’t even get that. This fountain is supposed to spray water, spin, and light up, which sounded like something Jordan would enjoy watching and playing with in the bathtub. Unfortunately it did not even turn on once, and we put brand new batteries in it. We tried turning it on outside of the bathtub first, and when that didn’t work we tried floating it in the tub, and then finally submerging it in the water, thinking that maybe that was required for it to work. Nothing worked. I read complaints about the battery compartment getting water logged, causing the fountain to stop working shortly after it was purchased, but we didn’t even get the chance for that to be our problem.
I would definitely not recommend buying this product.
UPDATE: After the star fountain sat in the cabinet for months since it never worked, Tyler picked it up and it worked! He was so excited, so we put it in the bath that night. It worked on and off for a few minutes, but then stopped working again. Tyler (3 1/2) and Jordan (15 months) liked the fountain for the first minute or so, but then didn’t pay attention to it, so they didn’t care that it stopped working.
